911 Call Taker

The Emergency Call Taker qualification is the only qualification available from the Probationary Dispatcher stage. We highly advise all dispatchers to get this certification, as it greatly helps them boost their knowledge for 911 calls and brings them to a new level of their qualities for call taking. All qualifications require the dispatcher to have gone through the Emergency Call Taker course. The goal of this is to improve the quality of 911 calls when possible and encourage civilians to do more in-depth creative civilian scenes and give us as much information as they would be asked to give in a real-life situation. This qualification will be for all 911 calls, both law enforcement related as well as fire and medical-related.

Fire & EMS Dispatcher

The Fire & EMS dispatcher qualification is a branch of the many qualifications on offer. Dispatchers are encouraged to take part in this qualification if they have a passion for fire radio or the medical area. To undertake Fire & EMS Dispatcher, a dispatcher must be a Dispatcher and must already be qualified in Emergency Call Taking. Dispatchers will find that both the Fire & EMS Dispatching and Police DispatChing will be a step up from the Emergency Call Taker qualification. At this qualification, dispatchers will go in-depth into the medical aspect of a 911 call, for example asking more relevant questions based on the patient's condition instead of focusing on the basics, such as location and what happened. Along with the medical aspect, this qualification will also touch on the topic of fire and rescue related calls and how we can better our dispatching in this field.

LEO Dispatcher

The LEO Dispatcher qualification is another brand of the many qualifications on offer. Dispatchers will be encouraged to take part in this branch if they have an interest in the LEO Radios or any Law Enforcement experience. We focus in this qualification on the aspect of gathering as much relevant information as possible that will aid a member of the Law Enforcement We will try to gather as much information as possible for both emergency and non-emergency calls. This will aid us all in prioritizing calls and how we dispatch units to them. Much like Medical Call Taker, any dispatchers interested in this qualification will need to be a Dispatcher I and must have the Emergency Call Taker I qualification.
